ExamWizard is a tool for teachers used extensively in schools and
teachers' homes, and is licensed for any number of machines. Here
you can discover how networking ExamWizard can be achieved. ExamWizard was not conceived for student use, although this is
possible.
Please note, any earlier versions of
your product(s) will be overwritten.
1. Begin your first subject’s installation onto your Server,
choosing ‘NETWORK’ when prompted.
(Before 2008 insert CD and go to Network Support >
Server > select subject)
2. The installation will now try to create an ExamWizard32 folder,
which you must do by targeting a shared directory on your Server.
If you have an existing ExamWizard32 folder on your Server, you must
target this. Please do not change the name of the folder.
Repeat this for all the products for which you have purchased a
licence.
Your ExamWizard32 folder must now contain:
• ExamWizard32.exe engine
• Data folder (containing an .EXL and an .EXT for each subject
installed)
• Workstation folder (containing a script_template.vbs for
optional use)
• Button_A.exe
• Button_B.exe.
(Before 2008 there will be no
script_template.vbs. Button_A.exe and Button_B.exe are to be
found on the CD - see next step)
3. From any Workstation, access your Server and execute Button_A.exe
from your ExamWizard32 folder. You must be logged on with
administrative rights. Ensure that the drive mapping you use to then
target the ExamWizard32 folder is the same for all users at all the
workstations you intend ExamWizard to be installed on.
Now enter your licence details,
remembering the ‘Organisation’ field must be typed exactly as we
have sent it to you.
Repeat this for all the products for which you have purchased a
licence.
You will now have an exampro32.ini file and the necessary
shortcut(s) in your ExamWizard32\Workstation folder.
(Before 2008 insert CD and go to Network Support > Workstations >
Button A)
4. For all subsequent machines, simply browse to your ExamWizard32
folder and execute Button_B.exe. You must be logged on with
administrative rights. This takes seconds and will copy the
shortcuts and place the exampro32.ini file into the Windows
directory (WINNT for Windows 2000) of the local machine, as well as
registering an essential active X control.
If you do not want to go to each workstation, you can modify
script_template.vbs found in the ExamWizard32\Workstation folder,
and run it as a logon script
(Before 2008 insert CD and go to Network Support >
Workstations > Button B. There is no script_template.vbs)
